About the

The Wemyss Ware Cat Trail is Kirkcaldy’s biggest ever outdoor art event.

From April to September 2026, 17 large-scale cat sculptures will be displayed across the town, each uniquely designed by talented artists and inspired by the iconic Wemyss Ware pottery cats.

Follow the trail, discover each unique design, and explore Kirkcaldy in a whole new way.

From the seafront to the town centre and beyond, each stop reveals a new piece of artwork and a new part of the town to enjoy.

The trail has been brought to life by local artists, supported by the Adam Smith Global Foundation, the Kirkcaldy Lottery, and a network of local sponsors.

This is a project created by the community, for the community - celebrating Kirkcaldy’s heritage, creativity, and people.

Use this website to explore the cats, learn about the artists, and track your progress along the trail.

And don’t forget to look out for the mystery cat, travelling around Kirkcaldy and beyond by bus!
